Florida Fun (& Firsts!)

Last week brought a flurry of fun and firsts in Florida!

I had to go for work, and it was going to be a looong trip! So, I loaded up the baby girl and brought her along.

Here is the happy baby on her first flight!


I was a bit nervous about flying with her by myself, but I had the good fortune to run into my friend Cathy! She was more than happy to hold Anna...

...and eventually put her to sleep! She slept a good portion of the flight and when she was awake, she was delightful! I think she likes to fly :).

When we arrived in Florida, Anna's Grandma joined us!

She spent lots of time playing with Anna...

...taking her for walks....

...and going swimming (another first!)

Freeing me up for a week of work!
Anna got to see the ocean for the first time.

She seemed to love being outside.

It must have been something about the warm air...sunshine...and the need for a hat...

That made this girl reallllly happy! :)

Of course, I had to take several photos in her new bathing suit...

...bathing suit cover-up...

...and in her diaper during playtime.

Grandma couldn't get over how much this baby....

Had grown!

And now understands why we generally just refer to her as "fat baby"

Anna was even able to finally meet my long time (and now blogging)

friend and co-worker, Katie!

After several days of enjoying the warm of Florida....

It was time to pack up the outdoor girl...

and bring her home to her very lonesome dad.

She fell asleep in the cab on the way to the airport...

But she woke up in time to let me know what she thought of the new security procedures:

Soon enough we were through security and ready to head home!

19 Weeks

Well, 19 weeks wasn't the greatest for photos....
...but we tried!

Fun with the Fam

It was recently Grandpa D's birthday so we took advantage of the opportunity for a few photos!

Grandpa is so sweet and so very proud of his two grand-kiddos. Let me tell you, this guy will never, ever be able to say "no" to "his little lollipop"!

Anna and her cousin have already established quite a bond and are very fond of each other. He is with her at daycare (gramma-care:) one day a week and she spends much of that time just watching him.

Too bad one could get her to smile this night! Oh, well.

So Anna has a little buddy...

That's cute as a button. They've already had several fun adventures...

...and his mom and I are so very grateful to not only have babies the same age ("hey! what's on your arm??")...

...but to have each other to bounce all of this "new mom" stuff off of! What fun to have these little ones!

Strollin'!

The other day, we had a heat wave pay us a little visit!
Temps in the high 70's are oh-so-welcome in February!

Miss Anna hasn't had the chance to try out her stroller sans car seat yet, so we did just that...

...and she LOVED it! She cooed and kicked for our entire 50-minute walk!

Yes, indeed, I think she's mine, this little lover of the outdoors!

What was that??? (Weeks 17 and 18!)

...whew...
....whew...
.....whew....

That was time flying by! So much going on here! Two new jobs, new daycare, new computer all add up to a blogging slow down!

As time goes by at the speed of light, this girl...


...is growing and growing!


Well, sort of.
Turns out Weeks 17, 18, 19 brought the start of a daycare hunger strike!
She eats great at home...bottle too...but will.not.eat.at.daycare.

Which as caused her growth rate to slow waaaaay down. Concerning the Dr. Welove.


Seriously?? So even though she remains the most {{{adorable}}} baby we have ever seen...

The continued development of her own Point of View on how things should be...


...is giving us fits!
Which, apparently, she thinks is funny :)

A Girl and Her Dog

Could these two be any cuter?!?!

4 Months Old!

Anna is 4 months old!

She is continuing to chunk up and is weighing in at 12 lbs, 11 oz. Her chubby thighs are simply scrumptious.

This month, she started to giggle, which is the cutest thing we can possibly imagine! She adores her dad to the point that she stops whatever she's doing (including eating) whenever she hears his voice to find him!

The last month brought her first sickness (head cold! Bummer!) and her mom's first out-of-town trip. We all survived both!


She is getting realllly strong and is constantly straining to do "get out" of her chairs, carseats, etc. Though I don't know what she would do if she were to succeed.

She's started to grab with a death grip (as evidenced above) and if she grabs the skin on your neck...ow!...she is a strong girl!


She has a decisive personality and her smiles are enormous. I am so in love with this baby, it's surreal.

So, so blessed to be her mama.

He's Coming Out From Down UNDER!

A special someone just told us...

...he's headed home from the Land Down Under.

Grandpa's Birthday!

Anna's Kansas Grandpa recently celebrated his birthday!

Since she's getting more and more vocal, she was able to tell him a few things...

and wish him "Happy Birthday!"

At the party, Miss A spent some time hanging out with her favorite Aunt!

Well, Miss Anna only has one Aunt. But even if she had a hundred, I'm pretty sure Jen would be her favorite!**

**while she only has one Aunt she has several Aunties that she adores and who love her very, very much! Lucky girl, hey?
